Poland’s number one reggae/dancehall sound who have global status with a series of massive tunes such as Screw Dem, Soulfly and Jump and Skip Riddims; working with top vocalists including Ward 21, Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, U Brown, Milion Stylez, Lady Chann, Tipa Irie, Jah Mason, Perfect, Dr Ring Ding and smashing partys worldwide. Recent performance at Boomtown was off the hook. Also playing at Tokyo Dub Festival on the Eat Your Greens meets Bare Safe stage, 28th September.
Dreadsquad’s sets are all about the party: a fusion of dancehall, energetic soca, ska, hip-hop an reggae with a lot of electronic influences plus their own riddims, mashups and remixes . Freely mix genres basing their music on deep bass and broken rhythm; often combining Jamaican music with modern sounds of breakbeat, jungle, dubstep and garage.
In 2003 and 2004 they won the Polish Sound Clash. According to the musicians themselves, their music being energetic and lively is made for dancing and having fun.
November 4th 2006 Barbados newest reggae sensation Matthew Thomas, alias Red Star Lion made his first appearance on the big stage at Reggae Sunset Jam which was held at the Barbados National Stadium. Due to the impact of his self-produced debut single You Are The One, Red Star Lion was given the opportunity to open the show and set the stage for Damien Marley and other internationally known artists such as Cocoa Tea and Baby Cham. He has performed with the Dub Pistols and Turbulance among others.
