Citizen Papes is the creative project of JP, an emerging talent in the music industry, known for his quirky and captivating songwriting. Citizen Papes has created a devoted online following, particularly on TikTok with a remarkable 65k followers, in which he shares songs that delve into the realms of personal emotions and experiences. 

 Of his songwriting, Citizen Papes explains, “I’ve always felt quite a strong emotional connection to music and the way certain songs in particular make me feel. When I feel moved by a song I get obsessive over it and try to figure out why I love it so much. Someday I want to believe people can feel that connection with my music too – I guess that’s my ultimate goal” 

 His debut EP “For You” explores the attachments to things and people in life even though you recognise that these attachments may not lead to the best future outcomes. As Citizen Papes explains in his own words, “It’s a very strange thing that we often gravitate towards people that deep down we know aren’t good for us. Sometimes I really think I’m subconsciously attracted to chaos and unrest”.   

Citizen Papes is set to release his debut EP “For You” this year.
