Brian Cox stars as one of Britains most prominent and complex icons, Prime Minister Winston Churchill as he approaches the nail-biting 48 hours before the 1944 D-Day landings.
As allied forces stand poised to re-take Nazi-occupied Europe they must wait for wait for Churchills potentially triumphant or utterly disastrous OK.
Directed by Jonathan Teplitzky (The Railway Man) this tense thriller explores the iconic figure, his rousing speeches and his turbulent career: political ridicule, military failure and a speech impediment.
Drawing heavily on Churchill’s relationship with his beloved wife Clementine (Miranda Richardson), and with an excellent wider supporting cast including John Slattery (as Eisenhower), this immersive biopic reveals the terrifying anxieties, both personal and political, at the heart of a fascinating man and historical moment.
