Viggo Mortensen leads a supposedly dysfunctional brood of six in a charming and eccentric study of parenthood and family values.
In the lush wilderness of the Pacific Northwest, Ben (Mortensen) lives with his six children in Thoreau-esque seclusion, giving them a rigorous physical and intellectual education of his own design, until a family crisis forces him to re-enter the world. Exposing his children to a new way of life presents challenges for them all, and Ben must reassess his idea of what it means to be a parent.
Reminiscent of Little Miss Sunshine, Captain Fantastic is garnering strong reviews from early festival screenings.
