Build a two-wheeled robot in this exciting computing and electronics workshop. With expert guidance on construction and programming, and a kit of motors, wheels and electronics, you’ll be a robotics pro in no time.
Once built, learn the steps to program your creation to move forwards and backwards in a straight line. Add a distance sensor then write the code to stop your robot bumping into things.
*This does not include materials to take robots away from workshop. Customers will be provided with a bespoke ingredients list to grab your own kit and show off your robot building skills at home.
Ian and Simon of 2 Times Do will bring their electronic mastery to Exeter Phoenix on this one off, special edition robot building workshop, the perfect way to keep young minds active over October half term week.
Simon is a amateur photographer and composer who is interested in using technology in innovative ways as part of the creative process, he gained a PhD in composition from the University of Hertfordshire 2005 and currently uses Raspberry Pis in photography and generative music. He is a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and is a founder / director of Earworms Exeter, which organises live music performances for all the family aimed at educating and informing children.
Ian is a computer and electronics enthusiast who has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years and has a passion for all things digital. He believes technology can be harnessed by non technical people to enhance their personal and professional aspirations. He has a track record of taking projects from the inspirational phase to finished items.
