Described by The Times as a “one-person music festival”, international beatboxing star SK Shlomo returns with a very special FREE workshop for young people where you can learn to explore your own story using some of the breathtaking music, technology and performance skills on display in their award-winning solo show BREATHE.
If you are 12-25 and interested in…
…this is a place where you can explore and create!
Participants have the opportunity to perform on stage with SK SHLOMO as part of their Exeter Phoenix performance on Sunday 21st of May, and to watch the show for free! (The opportunity to perform is not an expectation! You can choose to opt in or out)
BREATHE Academy covers more than beatboxing: it’s about inspiring young people to be their true selves, through creative means.
The pilot launched in Spring 2023 and is modelled on the wildly successful **BAC Beatbox Academy**, founded in 2008 at Battersea Arts Centre where SK Shlomo began teaching disadvantaged young people in South London. Since then, Beatbox Academy has organically evolved into an internationally touring, award-winning theatre company and counts **multiple UK Beatbox Champions** under its alumni.
Attendance is free!
