Taika Waititi’s (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) big-hearted and hilarious coming of age comedy finally gets a UK release seven years after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010.

Boy is a dreamer with two heroes in his life. One is Michael Jackson and the other his father, Alamein, who he imagines as a hero figure. In reality he is a wannabe gangster.

When Alamein returns after seven years away, Boy is forced to confront the man he thought he remembered and learn to get along without the hero he had been hoping for.
