A portrait of the world’s most influential video artist, Bill Viola and his wife and collaborator, Kira Perov. Shot over twelve years, this new documentary follows the journey of acclaimed video artist Bill Viola as he develops two monumental new works at St Paul’s Cathedral exploring themes of life, death and the four elements.

Director Gerald Fox began filming as Viola’s ideas for the altarpieces were taking shape, and continued following progress over years of development and production until the second piece, Mary (2016) was installed alongside Martyrs (2014).
