Beautiful People (Die Die Die Old People Die)

Ridiculusmus

In an age where death and grieving are medicalised out of existence, the UK’s most enduring theatre double act reclaim humankind’s last taboo from imminent eradication in a paper-fine portrait of a timeless trio: cursed to eternal life without eternal youth.

Amid fumbling, daily rounds of coffee, call centres and cat food, their rants, dribbles, pills and cough bombs litter an ambling blend of symbolist mysticism and synaesthesia that has the fear of an ageing world population in its sights and oozes with the positivity of elderhood and good deaths.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Ridiculusmus theatre company have been touring acclaimed small-scale theatre work around the world since 1992. Led by joint-artistic directors, performers and writers Jonathan Haynes and David Woods they are a unique double act of the seriously-funny variety. Beautiful people was awarded the Herald Archangel Award at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019 for Best production and joins the company’s Total Theatre Awards, Time Out Live Award, Peter Brook Empty Space Award and the Granada Media Comedy Writing Award.
