Michelle Sank is a photographer born in Cape Town, South Africa. She left there in 1978 and has been living in England since 1987. Her images reflect a preoccupation with the human condition and to this end can be viewed as social documentary. Her work encompasses issues around social and cultural diversity. She is a Visiting Lecturer in Photography at University of Falmouth, Cornwall.
Images from her series Insulae produced in the Channel Islands in 2013/2014 are now in the collections of the Societe Jersiase, Jersey and Guernsey Museum, Guernsey, Channel Islands
The series “In My Skin” is currently published at here and on show at The Cape Town Month of Photography, Cape Town, South Africa
This work will also be exhibited in the Dear Sylvia exhibition at The Australian Centre of Photography, Sydney in January 2015
