This November we are continuing our artistic journey through Latin America finding out about some of the inspiring and influential artists of the region who have contributed to modern art practice shaping the art of their homelands and beyond.
We will be highlighting the following artists and artistic movements;
· Op Art: Enrique Careaga & Mabel Valdovinos (Paraguay)
· Surrealism: Remedios Varo (Mexico)
· Pop Art: Michael Burt (Paraguay) & Marta Minujin (Argentina)
· Textiles: Ernesto Neto (Brazil)
· Collage: Moara Tupinamba (Brazil)
There will be an opportunity for hands-on creative responses to the themes and artists considered each week where students will produce their own artworks using a variety of media including; painting, drawing, collage, and textiles. Inspired by the techniques and rich cultural heritage studied, the course aims to foster both artistic skills and cultural appreciation.
Wednesdays – 7pm – 9.30pm
