‘TRASH’

Chair: Adrian Tilley

Theatre director, teacher in India, Brazil, Vietnam, the Philippines and the UK, Andy Mulligan has already won the coveted Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize (2011). Here he talks about his 2010 novel Trash, a true thriller for readers aged 10 to 100, about three street children who eke out a living on a land-fill site until one day they find something truly life-changing.

The film of the book (screenplay Richard Curtis and director Stephen Daldry) has just hit the screens in the UK after winning best film at the Rome Film Festival.

We expect a mixed audience at this event, of adults and older children, and have priced tickets accordingly.
