Part gig. Part their Mums living rooms. Bonnie and The Bonnettes delve into motherhood, womanhood, femininity, and reinvention through conversations with their Mums, armed with three microphones, music, and a bottle (or two) of prosecco.
Coming home at the break of dawn, the light of your living room is on, but the hall is dark. Were sneaking in, staying over, popping round for a glass or two.
You taught us everything; how to tie our shoelaces, how to get over a heartbreak, how to budget, how to weather the storms, and told us the futures ours for the taking. We may roam all we want, go running wild but we remember all the while that those valleys have our names carved in stone so we will never forget the sound of home.
Your voices fill the hall; advice taken and ignored, tellings off, pep talks, and tales of your past. We were always scared of sounding just like you. STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH! I CAN SPEAK FOR MYSELF! But maybe, just maybe, you were right about some things.
They are a tribe of women that have shown us the way, and have carved us into who we are today. Its time to celebrate so get out your best china, put on a buffet, and crack open the bubbly because they are our Mums and its about time we chant it.
