78 shots and 52 cuts that changed cinema forever.

Alfred Hitchcock’s shower scene from Psycho shocked an entire generation with its brutal and unprecedented move of killing off his heroine. Comprising of 78 camera set-ups and 52 edits over the course of 3 minutes, film history was made and the face of cinema was changed forever.

Alexandre O. Philippe’s absorbing documentary, aided contributions from filmmakers and critics including Guillermo Del Toro, delves deep into the anatomy of those 3 minutes, unpacking just what makes the sequence so endlessly compelling and exquisitely terrifying.
