65daysofstatic began in Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2001 as Iain Armstrong, Paul Wolinski and Joe Shrewsbury.
Sheffield’s prog-rock math-metal heroes intersperse heavy, progressive, guitar driven instrumental sections with both idm-esque programmed and live drums. 65days’ albums maintain a distinctively gritty, almost industrial feel. The band, originally named after an unreleased John Carpenter film, have just released new record Wild Light – and it’s a doozy, building you right up with a gripping intensity.
