When four estranged cousins inherit a long-abandoned house in Normandy, they are drawn back together by a shared curiosity about their family’s past. Left untouched since the 1940s, the house is filled with forgotten relics that begin to reveal the story of their ancestor, Adèle Vermillard—a young woman who lived there more than a century earlier.
In 1895, during the vibrant cultural upheaval of Belle Époque Paris, twenty-year-old Adèle leaves the countryside in search of her missing mother. As she navigates a city transformed by innovation and artistic revolution, her journey becomes one of identity, resilience, and discovery.
Across two timelines, past and present intertwine as the cousins piece together Adèle’s life through the objects she left behind. In doing so, they not only uncover long-buried family secrets, but also find new meaning in their own fractured relationships—proving that understanding the past may be the key to shaping their future.
