Imaginative young people aged 7 to 12 are invited to create a stage play with award winning PaddleBoat Theatre Company during the Summer holidays.

The inventive Exeter-based company, which is known for its distinctive and playful approach to theatre, will guide youngsters through a week of storytelling, puppetry, music, design, acting and devising.

This theatre week offers children the chance to have fun creating with other children and professional artists to put together a piece of original drama and perform on a professional stage at the Exeter Phoenix.

The week will focus on devising a brand new adventure story – The Noise From Beyond the Stars! Join as we explore what mysteries await outside of our solar system. We’ll travel further than any astronaut has ever travelled before and explore whether there are any other life forms out there waiting for us, and if so, what would we like to tell them. As a group of intrepid galactic explorers, we will work together to create our own version of this epic adventure.

At the end of the week, friends and family will be welcomed to the Exeter Phoenix to watch the children perform their very own play – The Noise From Beyond the Stars.

The week is for children aged 7-12 years old on course start date – no previous theatre experience required.

Rehearsals and the performance will take place in the Exeter Phoenix. PaddleBoat will be at the Exeter Phoenix entrance to meet and greet children and parents/guardians. By purchasing a place on this theatre week you agree that your child(ren) must be signed in when they are dropped off and signed out when they are picked up by a nominated adult.

Refunds will not be given unless the booked space is filled by another customer.

10am – 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
10am – 3pm Friday with performance at 2pm
