Perfect for beginners and growers who want to build resilience, save money, and deepen their understanding of plants.
Join Exeter Seed Bank for a hands-on workshop all about saving your own seeds for future growing seasons. The session will include plenty of practical, hands-on activities, plus guidance on how to clean and dry seeds and store them properly so they stay viable for years to come.
We will cover the easy wins: crops that don’t cross-pollinate easily and can be saved from smaller plant populations, including French beans, peas, tomatoes, and lettuce. There will also be an introduction to hand-pollination techniques for squash and courgettes, so you can confidently save seed from these crops too. The next session is Sat 05 Sep.
Exeter Seed Bank CIC was established in 2020 to share knowledge and skills about seed saving, an ancient craft that is reviving in the face of our diminishing seed diversity.
ESB also aims to champion socially engaged arts practices that inspire sustainable horticulture and urban environmental stewardship.
Workshop attendees get 10% off all food and hot drinks at the Café Bar.
