Amplify: Image & Style

Your image is a vital part of your act. Once you have found the musicians you gel with and your musical genre and style, the way you look will ensure you are immediately recognised. You need to stand out, do not settle for mediocre. Trust your intuition and let me help you take it to the next level.

In this workshop I will cover:

The ‘Look’ – how to create your own distinctive look, how do you perceive your identity? How do you want to present yourself to the world? What is your message? Your signature? We will delve into what makes you unique as a person and as an artist to guide your look and vision.

Inspiration – together we will study other bands and artists who you take influence from, look at fashion designers work (past & present), art & costumes in our global human history. We will discuss ways to seek that spark of inspiration, and I will encourage you to visit relevant art galleries, museums Etc.

Practical – studying body shapes & colours. Our bodies are individual and unique. I will guide you to choosing styles that compliment your shape, no matter how daring or demure you choose to be. Getting the right fit is vital. Colour is equally crucial, as the right choices energise whilst the wrong choice devitalise. We can also cover hair & make up styles, accessories and more.

Solo Artist – working to your strengths, both physical and creative. Together we can explore and develop your own autonomous style.

Band / group – we will work through various thoughts and ideas; do you choose a unified look, or will you develop your individual stage style? We can explore these concepts and find the right fit.

Depending on individual goals, I can cover any of the above plus preparing for a photo shoot, developing & evolving stage persona, set styling etc.

Free professional development workshops for Musicians

This programme of FREE Professional Development Workshops for musicians is designed to support our creative community to develop relevant skills, expand knowledge and grow professional networks. Focussing on the business of being a creative practitioner, the programme aims to equip artists with the skills that they need to grow their careers.

Each session will be followed by a chance to informally hang out, meet and chat with fellow attendees in our cafe bar.

We nurture a thriving arts scene through our Creative Hub, supporting artists, musicians, theatre companies, filmmakers and creatives at every stage of their career and practice. As well as presenting work, we also thrive on developing new talent by giving artists the tools to experiment, take risks and realise their best ideas. Through the Creative Hub, we have helped launch the careers of award-winning filmmakers, developed quality work that has gone on to tour nationally, and provided a support network for those looking to embark on creative endeavours for the first time.

These sessions are provided in partnership with the Cameron Mills Group and Creative Music Hub
