Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) despatches Count Dracula (Christopher Lee) to his grave, only for the Lord of Darkness to be reborn by occultist Johnny Alucard (Christopher Neame) in swinging 70’s London. Brought back to life the Count preys on a group of young partygoers (including festival guest Caroline Munro) and a descendent of his arch nemesis…
For some the film signals the beginning of the end for the famed horror studio, the film’s reputation has grown over the years into something of a cult classic and is an enormous slice of swinging Hammer fun and features one of Hammer’s finest prologues.
