EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE! THE GREAT SATAN: PRESENTED BY SPINNING PATH
Take a trip through Spinning Path’s retro VHS video store into the world of The Great Satan! Since the dawn of time, man has searched for answers . . . and failed. But the fog of existence has finally cleared thanks to the eternal fruits of Everything is Terrible!
With their longtime collaborator Lucifer, Everything Is Terrible! has ingested over 2,000 satanic panic, religious kook, and D-horror VHS tapes. They have recontextualized them and created a narrative feature that reminds us all who we are, why we are here, and what we should be doing with our paltry time on this dumb planet. And now they invite you to be an initiate of the psychedelic devotion of EIT! As you take your oath, your journey will brim with evangelical ducks, goopy ghouls, and sad white men who believe that Dungeons & Dragons summon actual horned demons. Be warned . . .
7pm: The doors to our retro VHS video store will open for an hour of browsing a selection of rare VHSes, cult classics, and cheesy horrors. Test out your videos on our old CRT televisions and get ready for the horror that awaits around the corner in our pop-up cinema.
8pm: The Great Satan will begin playing.
ABOUT SPINNING PATH
Spinning Path started when Producer Simeon Costello and Writer/Director Tommy Gillard crossed paths in deepest Devon. Building on a shared love of weird cinema, they sought to create equally obscure short films. And they haven’t looked back.
Since making BFI London Film Festival 2020 Best Short Film Shuttlecock, Spinning Path are beginning to host a regular pop-up events cinema at Positive Light Projects and will be sharing a variety of films from underground cult genre movies, to films that are so bad they’re good, and films that you’ve heard of but may not have had the chance to see before.
