November Artist : Fern Leigh Albert
Fern is a photographer and art director for film. She recently headed the art department on the feature film ‘And Then Come The Nightjars’ which is set during the foot and mouth crisis in Devon and filmed on Dartmoor. She loves working within her local landscape which is reflected in her personal photographic work. Themes of nature connection and self-sufficiency run throughout her projects.
Fern grew up in Hertfordshire and has been based on Dartmoor for nearly ten years. She studied at The University of the Arts London and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Photography in 2013. Her projects have been shortlisted for various photography awards and have been exhibited in group and solo shows internationally.
For three years Fern lived off-grid in a small woodland cabin on Dartmoor. As part of the talk she will be sharing some images from her time there which has heavily influenced the way she has lived and worked ever since.
