Deerskin brings a whole new meaning to ‘Killer Style’ when Georges (Jean Dujardin) invests all his money in a pre-owned deerskin jacket of his dreams.
With the relationship with his wife in tatters, Georges retreats to a remote town where he also gets hold of an old video camera and ignites a new interest moving him from couture to auteur. Aided by aspiring editor Denise (Adèle Haenel), he sets out to create his masterwork. However, his ever closer relationship with his deerskin jacket starts to take him down a darker path that he continues to document on his camera and which Denise continues to sew together into a film.
Laugh out loud funny, similar to the likes of The Lobster, In Fabric, and Rubber (also by Director Dupieux) Deerskin is gloriously unexpected and strangely engrossing as the odyssey on which Georges has embarked unfolds leaving him guilty of many things, not least an excess of killer style…
