Dir. Billie Piper
2021 | 91 mins | UK
Billy Piper, Leo Bill, Kerry Fox
Billie Piper’s directorial debut is an unfiltered pitch-black comedy about the failed love story of Mandy and Pete.
Mandy (Billie Piper) is a modern woman in a crisis. Raising a son, Larch (Toby Woolf) in the midst of a female revolution, mining the pain of her parents’ separation and professionally writing about a love that no longer exists, she falls upon a troubled man, Pete (Leo Bill), who is searching for a sense of worth, belonging and ‘restored’ male identity.
Each screenings will have a special pre-recorded introduction from Reclaim the Frame featuring writer/director Billie Piper, Caitlin Moran and Birds’ Eye View director Mia Bays. Friday and Saturday’s screening will be followed by a pre-recorded Q&A with Billie Piper and Mia Bays.
Directed by a woman, written by a woman and starring a significant woman.
F-Rating is a new rating for films directed by women, written by women and/or with significant female characters on screen, in their own right. Find out more here >>
