Spork! presents: The Hope & Feathers Showcase

Bloom: Exeter’s Online Festival of Mental Health Awareness

Welcome to Bloom – our online festival to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. You can find out more about the festival including more free, online activity here >>

Join Spork! for an hour of soaring, alluring (and sometimes-silly) spoken-word poetry ft performances from Liv Torc and Harula Ladd plus an open-mic.

Liv Torc is a multiple Slam Winner, former Bard of Exeter, creator of the Haiflu project and the current co-host of The Hip Yak Poetry Shack. She runs the spoken-word stage at WOMAD, and has performed her work all over from Glastonbury Festival to BBC Radio 4. Liv’s writing is warm and wondrous. Full of fire, tenderness and humour; her words will never fail to lift you up.

Harula Ladd is a Devon-based poet, performer & facilitator whose practice is rooted in community and well-being. She was recently Poet in Residence for the Social Prescribing Network, is the current Exeter Slam Champion and the creator (& sole librarian) of The Postal Poetry Library. Original, transformative, and possessing of a unique emotional intelligence, Harula’s poetry wraps itself around you with the warmth of one of her mum’s cardigans.

THE OPEN-MIC

Have a poem or piece of writing to share? Fancy a 5-minute slot? The open-mic is open to all. Limited spaces available, so sign up in advance by emailing Chris at sporkpoetry@gmail.com.
