Exeter Phoenixs 17th annual Two Short Nights Film Festival is back with a diverse and exciting programme of screenings, workshops and events celebrating the world of short film. Enjoy incredible documentaries, stunning cinematography and exceptional storytelling with screenings of must-see films from around the world, alongside emerging local talent.
Responding to a set brief, watch filmmaking teams pitch for the South West Documentary Commission 2019, in front of a live panel of film commissioners from Exeter Phoenix and Real Stories. All hoping to secure the cash prize of £1000 funding and additional support towards their next non-fiction short film project.
The South West Documentary Film Commission is aimed at filmmakers looking for funding to realise a non-fiction short film project exploring any subject matter, which demonstrates originality within the documentary genre. The final film is required to be 5 minutes in length and may use any form production technique for delivery, such as live action, reenactment or animation.
For the South West Documentary Film Commission 2019 we are partnering with Real Stories, the home of compelling and award winning documentary content. Real Stories was launched in Autumn 2015 and has grown to include over 600 high quality documentary and factual titles, including over a dozen BAFTA and Emmy award winning programmes. Drawing on a rich seam of human interest stories, the channel covers everything from true crime and incredible humans through to hard-hitting current affairs. Now regularly exceeding one million views a day, it includes licensed content from the best broadcasters, distributors and producers in the world and original documentary films commissioned by the Real Stories team.
