Exeter Phoenix and Unique Boutique present

The Village Fete

A taste of the countryside in the heart of Exeter. Arts and crafts stalls, traditional games, food, entertainment, treats and much much more.

Unique Boutique and Exeter Phoenix are hosting Exeter’s newest Village Fete. There will be plenty of Unique Boutique’s eclectic arts and crafts as well as food stalls, a bouncy castle, vintage games for all the family and delicious food from mobile caterers and the Exeter Phoenix cafe bar summer menu. All alongside the renowned Family Saturday goings-on. The event will respond to the weather so no matter what the summer does, there’s fun to be had. and it’s free to get in!

Market Stallholders

To name but a few we have regulars Giddy Sprite and Kevin Mansfield ceramics, both of whom use Britain’s birds as inspiration for their work. The westcountry landscape is also reflected in Robin Doyle’s and Vin Blackwell’s abstract artworks. Jennifer and Elaine from Crafty Little Birds return with their quirky textile menagerie and newbie Jess Pearson comes with her cast of sock monkeys and up-cycled toys. Also new to Unique Boutique are Clark and Robinson, a duo breathing new life into wooden boxes. Four jewellery makers sell their semi-precious and silver work and Martin Ellis has his silver cufflinks for the chaps. Don’t worry about buying too much – Penny Bromley’s humorous screen-printed bags are a delight to fill. There are many more makers and designers, all of whom are more than happy to chat about what they do.

Food

Alongside the tempting treats of Unique Boutique, the Village Fete comes complete with candy floss, cupcakes, calzone pizzas and the roaming ice cream stall.

And then there is the cafe bar too, when its time for a cuppa, (or something stronger).

Games

If shopping isn’t your things then check out the secret garden with the bouncy castle, face painter and some beautiful vintage games on loan from the Very Vintage Hire company. When did you last have a pop at a coconut shy? We also are very pleased to welcome Headway Devon – the brain injury association, the Wildlife Trust and Double Elephant’s Conversation Station, all of whom will be running games and activities to raise awareness of their cause.
