For nearly two decades, Manchester’s Ingested have stood as one of the UK’s most uncompromising forces in extreme metal. Champions of a sound that fuses precision brutality with increasingly dynamic songwriting, they’ve evolved from underground slam pioneers into a globally recognized, forward-driving powerhouse. With Denigration, the band begins a bold new chapter, one defined by reinvention, sharpened purpose and the arrival of new voices at the helm.

At the core of this evolution remain founding members Sean Hynes (guitars, co-vocals) and Lyn Jeffs (drums), the creative backbone whose vision, chemistry, and relentless drive have powered Ingested since day one. They are joined by guitarist Andrew Virrueta, who also contributes vocals to the album, and bassist Thomas O’Malley, who both took over vocal duties, completing a lineup that delivers the band’s most dynamic and commanding work to date.

Produced by Nico Beninato at The Arch Studios in Southport, UK, Denigration captures Ingested at their sharpest and most forward-thinking. The album’s visual identity is equally striking, featuring artwork by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, whose detailed, eerie imagery reflects the record’s thematic depth and ferocious tone. Further amplifying its scope and intensity, Denigration includes standout collaborations such as “Merciless Reflection” (featuring Damonteal Harris of PeelingFlesh) and “Watch You Fold” (featuring John Gallagher of Dying Fetus), along with additional contributions from Skyler Conder (Cell) and Kyle Medina (Bodysnatcher).

With Denigration, Ingested step fully into a new era – stronger, darker, and more focused than ever. It’s not just a milestone release; it’s a declaration that the UK’s reigning kings of brutality are far from finished. In fact, they’ve just begun again.

Netherwalker

Forged in the blazing dominion of Florida, Netherwalker aims to bring mythical symphonies and storytelling to the metal world. Formed in 2021, the band has since found success online with singles such as Tavern, Battle of Tredem, and Thine King Weeps for Mercy. With the goal of playing live, guitarist and founder Grayson Yearty needed a full lineup to complete the band, bringing on vocalist Alex Calver and drummer Mauricio Cortez Bowles in 2024.

Psycroptic

When the history of technical metal is viewed in years to come, the books will come to show that Psycroptic are responsible for a hefty slice of the genre. The band blasted into the deepest underground in the late 90s, then proceeded to drag the metal scene closer to what they do by sheer attrition. Their music guides you through the densest of riff jungles before bursting into the clear with powerfully rhythmic grooves and blasts, anchored by the profoundly talented Haley brothers. No band bio is complete without a quote from the band themselves, but this bio will need to remain incomplete. All the members are profoundly humble and simply let the music do all the talking. Guitarist Joe’s esoteric, impenetrable picking style weaves musical hooks that wrap around the listener before pulling back to reveal Dave’s pulsating rhythms. They achieve a level of synchronization only brothers with decades of experience playing together can achieve. There are none tighter. That their telepathic performance is matched by the final lineup of Todd Stern on bass and the charismatic roar of Jason Peppiatt is almost unfair. Like all masters, they make the impossible look impossibly easy.
