Cafe Bar
Are you looking for somewhere in the city centre for a drink or a bite to eat in a vibrant, creative setting? You’ve found it!
Whether you are joining us for pre-show drinks, a mid-gig bar dash, lunch with friends, or the perfect coffee and cake spot, a warm welcome awaits you at our Cafe Bar.
As an events venue, our Café Bar opening hours vary.
Our minimum opening times:
- 10am – 8:30pm: Monday – Wednesday
- 10am – 11pm: Thursday – Saturday
- Closed Sunday (unless open for an event)
Food served 10am – 5pm: Monday – Saturday.
We accept walk-ups – no need to make a booking.
Our Café Bar is usually open before and during all events, but if you have a specific query, please contact cafebar@exeterphoenix.org.uk
As part of the Green Phoenix Project, our Café Bar serves entirely vegetarian, locally-sourced food. Our chefs also regularly add new dishes, including our weekly specials, soups, and seasonal favourites.
Our menu is full of delicious wraps, toasties, jacket potatoes, soups, salads, small plates and sides. There’s something for everyone!

There will be an initial, non-refundable charge for a cup when you visit the Exeter Phoenix Cafe Bar while attending a standing event.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Pay an initial charge of 50p for a cup
- Bring it back to the bar for a refill or swap it for a fresh one
- At the end of the night, take it home for next time or return it to the bar
IS THE INITIAL CUP CHARGE REFUNDABLE?
The initial 50p charge for your first cup is non-refundable. The cup is therefore yours to keep and reuse as you wish.
HOW WILL THE REUSABLE CUPS BE CLEANED?
We have upgraded our facilities so that all cups can be hygienically washed and dried on-site – not only cutting single-use plastic but also avoiding the extra emissions that come with off-site cleaning.
CAN I BRING MY OWN CUP?
If you already have a clean reusable cup from a festival or event, then feel free to bring it along to an event at Exeter Phoenix.
Remember, the greenest cup is the one you already own.
WHY DOES EXETER PHOENIX SERVE IN REUSABLE CUPS
As well as being less flimsy to hold (and less likely to spill!), by switching to a reusable cup, you will help us to greatly reduce the amount of single-use plastic we dispose of during our busiest events.
This change is another significant step on our sustainability journey here at Exeter Phoenix, as part of our core commitment to build a more sustainable future for the arts.
