Looking to break into the live entertainment industry and hone your skills? Join us for a new series of masterclasses this season.

Speaking about the new courses, our Live Programme Co-Ordinator Naomi Turner said: ‘We’re excited to be working with Dan Howson and Emma Bettridge to offer Exeter’s creative community the opportunity to develop their skills. Whether you’re looking for a grounding in the industry, developing as a producer, or thinking about pitching for funding, these industry courses will help you on your way.’

Industry Professional Tutors

These new classes will be run by Dan Howson and Emma Bettridge, both of whom both have extensive experience in the live entertainment industry.

Emma Bettridge a producer, dramaturg and festival director. She is the producer for Bristol Old Vic Ferment and a trustee for Wiveliscombe Town Hall. Between 2004 and 2009 Emma ran the Pleasance London and Edinburgh programmes. She also ran Pulse festival for three years. Her passion lies in developing and commissioning new work, with a real love for making art in the South West.

Dan Howson is an entertainment director based in Exeter who has developed his interest in the live entertainment industry by working in a variety of global entertainment businesses and his own firms since 199. He is a former Ambassador to the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills, helping young people to achieve their goals in the live entertainment industry through access to knowledge, work experience, apprenticeships and employment.
