When wild swimmers begin vanishing without trace, journalism student Deji decides to investigate, the further downstream she goes, the more the old stories resurface – and when the river turns red, it’s time to start swimming.
Filmed on location on the River Avon, this South West-based film sold out its premiere at the Bath Film Festival, attracting rave reviews for its original approach to the vampire genre.
Capturing the poetry of the river as well as the thrill of the chase, Wild Swimmers takes its cues from serial killer thrillers like Seven, Zodiac and Silence of the Lambs, while subverting them with creature feature elements.
“Kwok is outstanding” – Film Threat
Ahead of its release later in the year, writer-director Ric Rawlins presents an exclusive introduction and post screening Q&A.
