Oscar-nominated director Jan Komasa (Corpus Christi) directs this dark thriller, shot through with black comedy, about out-of-control teenager Tommy who fuels his drinking and drug-taking by monetising videos of his criminal deeds online. When on a bender with his wild friends he becomes separated from the group,and is horrified when he wakes with a chain around his neck in the basement of the isolated suburban family home of well-to-do Chris (Stephen Graham), his wife (Andrea Riseborough) and 10-year-old son. Chris’ motivation is to turn Tommy into a ‘good boy’ within this dysfunctional family. As time passes, a strange and complex dynamic begins to develop between the captive and his captors.

Fresh and unsettling, The Good Boy is an intense and unforgettable genre-bending thriller that unfolds like a dark fairy tale and challenges our expectations about what we accept as normal.
