Join us for the Exeter leg of the Best of Wildscreen Tour for an evening celebrating the joy of Rivers across the world as well as the people who are fighting hard to protect them.
This collection awe inspiring films transports us through the winding waters of Malaysia, the frenzied flows of salmon run and to the banks of our very own river Avon in the heart of Bristol. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with one of the filmmakers.
Wild Summon
Dir Saul FREED, Karni ARIELI, 14 mins
The epic life cycle of wild salmon in a way you’ve never seen before. Narrated by the iconic Marianne Faithfull, who has sadly recently passed away, this unique natural history fantasy film brings the untamed beauty of the salmon’s journey to life in human form.
Would You Still Love Me if I Was a Sticky Frog
Dir. Myles Storey. 17 mins
follows a young couple in a long-distance relationship imagining themselves as three different EDGE species in Malaysia. Prodced with support from the Wildscreen
Rave on for the Avon
Dir. Charlotte Sawyer. 86 mins
Rave On for the Avon is a beautiful new film which captures a community’s love for the Avon, their fight for Bathing Water Quality status and explores the importance of rivers in modern life – all set to a distinctly Bristolian soundtrack.
The Best of Wildscreen Tour is being delivered in partnership with Wildscreen with support from the BFI Fan Exhibition Fund, awarding funds from the National Lottery in order to bring this project to more audiences across the UK.
