Join Dr Maggie Irving of Comedy Matters for an online five week comedy course, perfect for beginners or comedians who want to refresh and build material.
Turn everyday conversations with others (or yourself) into comedy gold. Develop funny, relevant and relatable material for your audience. Learn to manipulate language; your voice and body to create comedy.
Develop material through a number of approaches in a safe and supportive atmosphere where there is no pressure to be funny. Advice on making material funny or even funnier will be provided throughout the course. Explore how to make friends and connect with an audience.
Dr Maggie Irving is a comedian, speaker and teacher of drama and performance. Trained with Jennie Éclair, Tony Allen, Philippe Gaulier, John Wright and Keith Johnstone. Passionate about humour and the benefits laughter brings to people, she creates workshops and events where people can come learn and laugh together in a safe and supportive space.
7pm – 9pm every Tuesday from 19th May to 9 June
This workshop will be hosted online through Zoom. When you book a ticket, we will send you a link to the Zoom Meeting Room.
