Multi-Layered Movement Expressions is a creative dance workshop grounded in the understanding that bodies, landscapes, memories, and texts exist in constant relation, shaped by social, cultural, and ecological forces. The practice seeks to revitalise holistic dance expression by questioning dominant, hierarchical, and product-oriented approaches to movement and performance.

Drawing on somatic practices, improvisation, and ecological ways of knowing, the workshop opens a non-judgmental and fluid compositional space where sensing, thinking, feeling, and imagining are equally valued. Participants are invited to explore how personal histories, cultural inheritances, displacement, and environmental contexts live in the body and influence movement choices.

Rather than reproducing fixed aesthetics or technical virtuosity, Multi-Layered Movement Expressions approach dance as a relational and political practice—one that can hold care, resistance, and unlearning. The work centres embodied knowledge, minoritised narratives, and ways of moving that often remain unseen within dominant dance platforms. Open to dancers and non-dancers alike, the workshop offers a shared space to reclaim movement as a site of agency, connection, and collective re-imagining.
