There is time honoured tradition of sitting quietly to meditate. We have all seen images of the Buddha, sitting cross-legged, serene and peaceful. There are perhaps lesser known, yet equally valuable approaches to meditation, that bring and explore movement into mindfulness practice. In this workshop, we will have an introduction to mindfulness practice and then compare sitting, standing and walking meditation, exploring mindful movement and expanding sensory awareness and mindful movement with music. The emphasis will be on creativity, enjoyment and finding simple ways of bringing mindfulness to personal well-being.
The facilitator, Robin Collins, is a long-established integrative therapist and teacher at Iron Mill College in Exeter. He has studied and practised meditation for over 40 years, based on both Eastern and Western approaches, always within a framework of making the healing power of mindfulness accessible, enjoyable and available to all.
