Mad Dog Mcrea blend a unique mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and ‘shake your ass’ music. From self-penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life, to traditional songs of gypsies, fairies, legless pirates and black flies – Mad Dog never fail to capture their audience with their infectious songs. In constant demand and having played just about every festival, Mad Dog Mcrea are, in every sense of the word, a live, band. Matched with the unshakable dedication of their massive and “loyal-to-the-hilt”, fan base, the band are more than just a very popular, festival act – with five albums under their belts, they are serious and acclaimed recording artists too.
Sound of the Sirens are the Exeter-based acoustic singer-songwriting duo of Abbe Martin & Hannah Wood. Honing their craft over the past decade, Abbe and Hannah have cemented themselves as firm favourites nationally and internationally too.
Complementing the diversity of their lyrics, their instrumentation is vast, and varied – Abbe plays acoustic and high-strung guitar, mandolin, and bass drum, while Hannah plays acoustic and electric guitar, tambourine, snare drum, and the piano.
The pairs’ musical and vocal dexterity dovetail beautifully on the co-written songs, which range from beautiful, emotive ballads, to up-beat, foot stomping, hand, sing-along anthems. The dynamic duo excel in the live arena with a certain majesty about their live performances – the onstage chemistry, camaraderie, and banter is worth the ticket price alone.
2021 has turned into a big year for Sound of the Sirens with new management, new agency and a new album imminent, produced by Saul Davies from the band James.
