2024 | 84 mins | UK
Cillian Murphy, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, Raffey Cassidy, and Aaron MacGregor

Based on the best-selling novel by Michael Morpurgo (War Horse) and adapted for screen by Frank Cottrell-Boyce (The Railway Man, Hilary and Jackie), Kensuke’s Kingdom spotlights the epic adventure of Michael, a young boy shipwrecked on a remote island who must adapt to life alone.

When Michael is washed up on an island in the Pacific after falling from his parents’ yacht, he struggles to survive on his own. But he soon realises there is someone close by, someone who is watching over him and helping him to stay alive. As the mysterious stranger – Kensuke – allows Michael into his world they become friends, teaching and learning from each other and the nature that surrounds them.

Delivered in beautiful animation and featuring a VIP voicecast including Cillian Murphy, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, Raffey Cassidy, and Aaron MacGregor, this adventure is set to be the summer’s must-see family film!

Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry, the directors, will join us on Thursday 8 August at 2pm for a conversation and Q&A after the screening.
