Introduction to the Novel

Do you dream of writing a novel? Do you have some great ideas, but are not sure where to start? Join me on an inspirational eight-week course where we will look at character, plot, setting and dialogue. This course provides a solid foundation that will help you start writing your novel and gain confidence in finding your voice.


SESSION DATES

Saturday Mornings: 10.30am – 12pm

  • May: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd
  • June: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th

Tuesday Evenings: 7pm – 8.30pm

  • May: 5th, 12th, 19th
  • June: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

ABOUT THE TUTOR

Adam Shackleton is a writer with a keen interest in developing creative talent. He holds a Master’s in Education, and read his Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Cambridge. He then taught for a decade in the United Kingdom and internationally, specialising in reading and writing. Adam is currently working on a commission for a charity to write a middle-grade novel and a picture book for younger readers. He looks forward to publishing both in 2026 to coincide with the charity’s anniversary celebrations.
