Charlie Davis, originally from Birmingham, began his career in 1994 as a stage technician with the NEC Group, working on major shows like Gladiators, Disney on Ice, Eurovision, The Eagles, WWE Rebellion, and Destiny’s Child over a ten-year span. From 1999, he spent over a decade with Banner Theatre as a sound and lighting technician and video editor. Founded by Ewan MacColl and Charlie Parker, Banner is one of the UK’s longest-running community theatre companies, known for its work with trade unions and marginalized communities.
In 2007, Charlie moved to Devon, continuing some freelance editing while teaching himself Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D, and ZBrush during time as a stay-at-home dad. His skills led to work with Dynamo Ltd, redesigning the Exeter Chiefs’ helmet, contributing to Bing Bunny books, and animating Dinosaur Roar. At Curious Universe, he designed children’s toys for manufacture, including Gonk, Princess, and Puppy.
