In the most recent update to our evolving paste-up poster project Corwall-based artist Hugh Frost presents Umwelt, returning to a recurring source in his work of the reverse side of stickers or paper silhouettes as often found in car, bedroom or classroom windows. These forms hold significance in simultaneously acting as early compositional experiments, formative constellations of personal world or meaning making as well as being an interior facing form, with only an approximate outline projected outwards from one context to the experience of an external viewer.

Hugh Frost is an artist based in Cornwall whose studio practice often involves layered drawings and small scale objects informed by fleeting images, found text, material compulsions and wobbly excursions through archival sources. Recent works have incorporated speculative retirement aesthetics infused sci-fi folk artefacts, ceramics and artists books referencing social and economic 5G interpretation; processing conspiracy chat, stock market fluctuation and UK / China Huawei fallout.
