Join Dance in Devon and Professional Dance Artist Denise Rowe for a day of fun and inclusive dance workshops working towards creating a ‘Dance in a Day’ to share with each other, parents and friends, in partnership with Exeter Phoenix.

Participants will form a dance company for one day, facing an intensive challenge where they will learn new creative skills and will work together to be ready to perform their piece at the end of the day!

A note from the Dance Artist

In this session we will explore rhythm and the passage of time through movement, dance and body percussion. Rhythm marks time and holds us in place. It is a meeting ground and a reminder that we are rhythmical beings, part of a rhythmical earth.

This Dance in a Day session is for 9 – 13 year olds and will be tailored to suit the ability of the young people taking part. The day will be all about working together to explore and create a new dance piece, come with tonnes of experience or none at all!

Booking deadline – Please book by Sunday 13th October. Please note this workshop will only go ahead if we reach a minimum booking number.

About the Dance Artist

Denise Rowe is a dance and movement artist with over 15 years experience in performance, choreography and facilitation around the world. Her work draws from pan-African dance traditions, contemporary dance and movement in the landscape.

Dance in a Day will run at 3 locations across Devon in October half term 2019 – Exeter Phoenix, Ashburton Arts Centre and The Beehive Arts Centre, Honiton.
