Producing high quality shorts on a minimal budget

This workshop will focus on the production of low budget shorts and the producer’s role in the process. The session will be illustrated with examples from some of the recent films from workshop leader Jeff Sleeman, and will include such topics as scheduling, creative problem solving, the director/producer relationship and optimising resources.

Your Tutor

Jeff Sleeman is an actor, facilitator and life coach who has also been involved producing a number of low budget short films in collaboration with local directors and writers. His acting roles have ranged from playing John Scarlett (Head of MI5) to a dead body in a pond and most bizarrely, a native American at a real funeral. His interest in the production side of film making came about after a chance meeting with director Steve Moles which led to them making a music video for a local musician and subsequently a range of short films, one of which Jeff also wrote.
