Two Day Workshop

Professional photographer and picture editor, Vanessa Miles, will be running this in-depth two-day course introducing digital SLR Photography. You will explore how apertures, shutter speeds and ISO’s as well as artistic aspects exploring what makes good composition and how to make the best use of natural light. This practical and hands on course will have participants taking pictures, downloading and editing them on the day. This will be an action packed, fun few days, allowing you to better understand your camera.

Please note that all attendees are expected to bring along their own DSLR camera. Compact cameras are not suitable for this course, some bridge cameras might be possible, if you’re unsure please contact us on: digital@localhost

Tutor

Vanessa Miles is a professional photographer based in Exeter.

Her experience is rich and varied in the world of photography. She was a founder member womens’ photography collective in South London in the early eighties and set up ran the Environmental Picture library in London in the early nineties. She has worked as a freelance picture editor, researcher and as a film stills photographer. Since living in Devon, she works as a wedding, press and events photographer, and photography teacher. She is Exeter Phoenix’s principal photography tutor and teaches photography at Exeter College for adult education. She is a freelance lecturer for higher education and has recently completed an MA at Plymouth University.
